Lyric Devotional - Giving Us Life pg. 1

For centuries scientists have pondered the question: How did Life on Earth begin?

It is still an open question and hypotheses abound. However God answered the question thousands of years ago in the book of Genesis.

...God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth." And it was so. Genesis 1:11

God said ... “and it was so”...God’s word creates, it gives life.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” John 12:24

Jesus is the life giving Word of God. The grain of wheat that fell to the earth and died. He was crucified, buried, and on the third day he rose from the grave, conquering death. Now he sits on heaven’s throne offering us the free gift of eternal life.

The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. Revelation 22:17

I encourage you to receive God’s gift for you.

Lyric Devotional - Everything Beautiful pg. 4

What does it mean to truly rejoice in the Lord? In my own life, there are days when I feel so much anxiety and heaviness over me that it can easily cause me to waste away the time that God has given me to rejoice in. I find myself feeling overwhelmed with so much to do but not knowing where to start. I find myself magnifying the things around me instead of keeping my eyes on the things up above. This only causes me to feel defeated, trapped, and easily stressed out and it can be a struggle to rejoice. Sometimes we can start to feel lethargic and have no motivation or hope in our situations when we fail to apply the Lord’s truths and promises over our lives. God has already spoken His word to us for our protection and salvation in Him. God will always help us to rejoice no matter what, because Life is a gift from Him, even if sometimes it doesn’t feel like it is.

So how do we rejoice in the Lord always? Well for starters, pray to be filled with Holy Spirit daily. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit and we need the Spirit continually working in our lives in order to transform into the new creation God designed us to be. It’s an everyday practice for sure. So we must also die to ourselves daily so that we can truly hear the Lord correctly. Its a choice we have to make to follow Jesus and obey His word. But if we truly love the Lord with all our heart, then we will listen and obey because His word never returns void, it always proves His faithfulness.

The Bible says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-7

What is walking by faith without sight? To be honest it is not easy. It is an everyday practice to walk by faith in every aspect of our lives especially when we cannot see what the outcome will be. It is believing that God will answer and knowing that His ways our better then our ways and being okay with that.

Sometimes our circumstances are not what we expect. He desires us to fully trust Him, He wants us to have an experience with Him. A real and genuine relationship with Him. He doesn’t want us to only know in Theory that He is good, He wants us to taste it. He wants us to experience His goodness in every area of our lives. He wants us to know in our minds and in our hearts that above all, we can always trust Him because He is faithful forever.

You know those moments when you meet a person for the first time and you feel that connection with them in such a real and tangible way that you know in your heart that this person is a true friend for life? There is a bond that forms and a sense of trust that develops with that person as you experience life together. And when those seasons you have experienced with that person end because of the changes we face in life you will always hold them dear in your heart.

In that way, God desires us to experience life with Him also. The only difference with people and with God, is that God will never leave or forsake us. He is perfect and the only one who is truly Holy. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is truly our Everything for life and He desires us to taste and see His goodness. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:27-28

So my question to you is, have you truly experienced God in a way that you can fully taste and see that He is good in every aspect of your life? Have you experienced that genuine, real, and intimate relationship with Him?

I encourage you to meditate on His Word daily. To Pray and never give up because," if we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” 2 Timothy 2:13 He never gives up on us!

Those who seek the LORD will not lack any good thing. Read Psalm 34 and proclaim His truths and promises over your life!

Lyric Devotional - Everything Beautiful pg. 2

There was a time in my life that I thought everything was going my way. I thought I was on the right track, I thought I was doing what God wanted me to be doing and I thought I had all the things I needed in life. Sometimes, what we think is best for ourselves is really not what God knows is best for us.

Sometimes, doors close, people change, and things are taken away from us and we wonder, why? Sometimes our world gets shaken so that we will walk in the path God desires us to walk in. Sometimes we need to feel like no one understands us so that we will cling to Jesus completely, rely on Him fully and go where He wants us to go.

In a split second our lives can change completely. Our on top of the world moments can then change into those fork in the road decisions in an instant. Change can be so good for us and so hard for us to go through at the same time. Yet there is One who will never change. One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. One who is faithful forever and who makes everything beautiful in its time. One who sticks closer to us then a brother, Who’s name is Jesus.

Sometimes it’s ok to live in uncertainty for a time because it keeps us seeking and trusting God with our lives. For an example, let’s look at Job. He was a man who was striving to do good, yet in the Bible we read of his heartbreak and sufferings. His confusion about why bad things were happening to him, his loneliness and feelings of uncertainty and isolation.

I can imagine how he could have felt like giving up at times, but he didn’t. He kept seeking the Lord, resting in His truths and promises, praising Him for His faithfulness and trusting that God the LORD above all, knew best. The Bible says that the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning...” Job 42:12 (ESV). God is always faithful forever, He is always good.

Lyric Devotional - Everything Beautiful pg.1

Have you ever felt so desperately in need for God to overwhelm you with His comfort and peace, that you physically feel Him wipe away your tears?

It’s a beautiful feeling, a Holy feeling, a feeling that you can never forget because it’s so real. It’s that feeling that you never want to leave behind because in that very moment your troubles disappear. A spark of hope becomes alive in you and you realize, God has never left me, nor has He ever forsaken me. He holds me in His arms and whispers Truth into my ears which then flows into my broken heart and begins to mend.

I am always so amazed at how God never fails to show up in the most perfect moments. Those moments when you feel like you cannot handle what you are facing in front of you. When you feel like your whole world is falling apart and your stomach is in knots. When your sorrow is so heavy that you hear it say, “you are defeated, give up.” Yet God always shine His light in the darkest places.

He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken.
Isaiah 25:8
